Action on Hearing Loss (formerly RNID)

Action on Hearing Loss provides a range of services to individuals and organisations.  It produces a magazine called “One in Seven” which comes out 6 times a year.

Their services include:

• Deaf awareness training
• Advice on employment, rights and welfare
• Typetalk
• Help and information on equipment
• Shop selling products and equipment for deaf and hard of hearing people
• Communication services such as sign language interpreting
• A library specialising in books on deafness and hearing loss

Action on Hearing Loss (RNID) Library

The RNID Library is the largest library in Europe that specialises in deafness and hearing loss. Anyone can use the library and books can be borrowed through the inter-library lending scheme.

The library is owned by Action on Hearing Loss (RNID) and run by University College London (UCL). It is based at the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, a department of UCL located in the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital.

(The Association of Teachers of Lipreading to Adults)
